Sonatype is pleased to announce the availability of Nexus Repository 3.5.0 OSS and Pro. This release adds support for Yum proxy repositories, and enhances the 2.x to 3.x upgrade process to support Firewall-enabled repositories.

Yum Proxy Repository Support

You have been asking for Yum support and we have listened. With release 3.5, you can now define Yum proxy repositories. In Nexus Repository 2, Yum support was built on top of maven repositories, this time around, we’re building Yum support as a first-class format.

Yum hosted and group repository support will be included in a future release. Give Yum proxy a try and let us know what you think!

Upgrade Support for Firewall Enabled Repositories

For Firewall customers looking to upgrade their Nexus Repository instances from 2.x to 3.x, we’ve enhanced the upgrade wizard to support quarantine-enabled repositories. This means that when you upgrade a 2.x instance to 3.x, the audit and quarantine history is upgraded along with it.

To make use of this enhancement, all you need to do is select your Firewall-enabled repositories when you upgrade. Make sure your IQ Server is reachable, and Nexus Repository 3 will orchestrate the upgrade.

Excited to share this release and get your feedback. Visit our support article for a list of full features included in 3.5 and learn more about the corresponding Nexus Repository 2.14.5 release.
