As Sonatype’s technology and organization have rocketed forward over the years, we noticed that along the way, our i-ching logo’s design fell behind the times.  It was no longer representative of the modern, forward-thinking business we’ve become.

Our aim was to modernize the logo while keeping it simple yet timeless.  We wanted an image that reflected our desire to help companies build the best software.

You might have noticed over the past several years that Sonatype has used hexagons to represent open source components -- and for good reason: hexagons are one of the strongest shapes for building.  They are present all around you in nature and design.  At Sonatype, hexagons regularly appear on our website, whitepapers, trade show booths, business cards, on our office walls, in videos and more.

Today, we are excited to introduce you to our latest release -- the new Sonatype logo:

SON_logo_main@2xDepending on what your are doing today, you may have already started seeing  the logo appear on our website, social media channels, event displays, business cards, and email signatures.  But make no mistake, as our company continues its record growth, you will be seeing more of it and more of us around your communities.

We are also introducing a new tagline for Sonatype that helps us communicate our vision and mission to customers.  Our tagline “A better way to build” was established to inspire, differentiate, and reinforce our values. Because Sonatype’s name is not very descriptive, the tagline helps better describe our goals as well as those of our customers.

While the majority of digital elements will change over the next 24 hours, the entire transformation will take time.  And today, we will begin to retire the i-ching.  We will also begin a journey to update our individual Nexus platform product logos over time to align them to our new modern mark.

Keep a look out for us here online, across your social channels, and at live events in your community.  We're stocking up on new t-shirts, laptop stickers, and other fun stuff to share with all of you.  Come by to say hello!
